Class Descriptions

Hot Yoga was made famous in the west by Bikram Choudhury. Bikram trained the owner of Yoga Oasis directly in 2000. Bikram yoga consists of 26 postures done twice with standing poses & floor poses designed to be attainable to every body. The studio is heated and enhanced with steam to create a hot room that is guaranteed to make you sweat. The class is suitable to all levels, beginners to advanced. 

Ashtanga, Vinyasa and power yoga are all a similar style based on an old style of yoga from Mysore, India. The owner of Yoga Oasis trained directly with this teacher Sri Pattabhi Jois in Mysore, India and has taught the teachers at Oasis the correct method. This style of yoga has more inverted postures with more weight on the hands, and is much more of a cardio workout. 

Many classes at Yoga Oasis are a blend of all styles shown on the right. The pictures on the right show the class sequences. Advanced classes we choose more advanced poses, and beginner classes has more of these restorative add yin postures at the end of classes to enhance relaxation
